Something different and exciting is happening in Downtown Cortland, Thursday July 27th through Saturday July 29th. It's a celebration of Commerce and Culture. Downtown's streets will be open and bustling with food, music, art and activities. Downtown's traditional sidewalk sale is expanding to include a festival with special events, a Festival Food Menu from downtown restaurants, local music and art; as well as great bargains.
Music & Shopping :
Downtown will be alive with music all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Visitors can listen to local musicians performing classical, Jazz, blues, and rock while they shop downtown and support local merchants. Some of the music features scheduled to date include Collen Kattau, Maria McCurie, Steve Daniels, Marty Brandon, the Sweet Adelines, and Bayou Highway.
Food & Shopping :
Downtown is home to great cuisine. Visitors can enjoy local restaurants for special deals Thursday, Friday and Saturday on Festival Food while they shop downtown and support local merchants. The Festival Food Menu includes Festival Food Features from Tuscan Grill, Star Bistro, M&D Deli, Community Diner, Barsoni's Pizza, Harry Tony's, King Sub, and Jack Danielson.
Activities & Shopping :
Downtown will be action packed with demonstrations, previews and exhibitions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Visitors can participate in fun activities for all age while they shop downtown and support local merchants. Some of the activities scheduled to date include: Celtic Festival Heavy Athletics Demo, Brockway Truck Preview, Classic Car Preview, Irish Dancers, Highland Dancers, Children's Story Time at the Library, Motorcycle Showcase, Historic Scavenger Hunt, Face painting, Farmer's Market, and Athletic demonstrations.
Art & Shopping :
Downtown is the heart of our community. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday visitors can explore the creative side of Cortland with artists on the streets and in the parks while they shop downtown and support local merchants. Local art scheduled to date includes: muralists, street painters, Cortland Repertoire Theatre, old fashion photos, dancers, classical music, drum and guitar demonstrations.
