 Cortland will be hosting the Department of New York American Legion Junior baseball Championships from July 31 – Aug 4, 2005.

Banquet:
Sunday, July 31st at Holiday Inn, Cortland, New York 6:30 PM
Rules:
American Legion Rules including:
• All games are 7 innings.
• 10 Run rule – after 4-1/2 or 5 innings
• Suspended game rule –once game starts, it will be picked up at the spot where stopped. All games must complete 7 innings unless rule “B”, above, applies.
• Legion Pitching Rule applies.
• College slide and collision rules as well as new bat rule will be enforced.
• Professional DH Rule.
• High School Re-Entry Rule.
• In District and Department Tournaments, each team must have at least 12 players dressed and ready to play.
• Lineup cards presented to the tournament director and umpires must have all players listed. A player not listed will not be allowed to enter the game.
Code of Conduct:
See enclosed sheets. Review with your players and review the Coaches Code of Ethics.
Teams Report:
Between 10 AM – 4 PM, Sunday, July 31. Each team is authorized 18 Players and 2 Coaches. They must be registered on the Form 1.
Each Team:
Must bring with them:
• Original Form 1, copies of Form 2’s and proof of insurance.
• Original Birth Certificates. No hospital records will be accepted.
• First Aid Kit.
Hotel:
The tournament headquarters hotel will be the Holiday Inn, 2 River St. in Cortland, (607-756-4431). Cost of lodging is $73 per room, at the expense of each team. The rooming list attached, must be completed and faxed to me at 315-732-5037. A hotel damage deposit of $300 (Check, cash or Credit Card) is required at check-in. The deposit is refundable at the time of check-out if there is no damage.
Elimination:
Once eliminated, you will be given 1 ? hrs to evacuate the hotel and head home. The tournament director and hotel staff will examine each room before you are allowed to leave the site. The tournament chairman may waive the departure requirement if he deems necessary.
Baseballs:
The Department of New York will provide baseballs – Wilson A1010.
Umpires:
The Department of New York will provide umpires.
